GREAT PLACE TO STAY WHEN YOU VISIT COLONIAL BEACH VA! SAME HOUSE LAST YEAR AND GLAD WE CHOOSE TO STAY THERE THIS YEAR AGAIN! WE HAD A COUPLE MINOR SITUATIONS THAT NEEDED ATTENTION WHEN WE ARRIVED, BUT CONTACTED THE HOST AND ALL WORKED OUT SMOOTHLY. LAST YEAR WE MENTIONED TO THE HOST ABOUT THE NEED FOR SAFETY BARS IN BATHROOM TUBS. MASTER BATH HAS GRIP BAR INSTALLED AND AM SURE THE OTHER WILL ALSO. JUST A SUGGESTION: MAYBE ADDING A ENTRANCE COVER AT THE FRONT DOOR, IN CASE OF DOWNPOURS! ALL ELSE ASIDE, THE HOUSE WAS CLEAN, KITCHEN ADEQUATELY STOCKED WITH COOKING ACCESSORIES, QUIET LOCATION, FRIENDLY PEOPLE WALKING BY, CLOSE TO ALL KINDS OF THINGS TO DO. ASK ANY OF THE LOCALS AND THEY WILL BE GLAD TO DIRECT YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION! RENT A GOLF CART AND DRIVE AROUND TO CHECK OUT LOCAL SHOPS. INSTALL THE APP TO KEEP UP ON THE HAPPENINGS, CAN'T ASK FOR A BETTER TIME AND A GREAT PLACE TO STAY. SURE WE WILL BE BACK!

Our stay in Colonial Beach was perfect! Cathy was great with communication throughout the process. The property was clean and well-prepared for our stay, and as advertised, so convenient to the center of CB. We were welcomed with two small dogs, who loved the yard! We were grateful to find a place to let us enjoy as a family! As a note for other pet people - we found several local restaurants that were more than happy to have us on the patio with our pups. CB was a great choice for our long weekend and this property really served us well for a quiet and relaxing family weekend.

GREAT HOUSE AND LOCATION. HOUSE WAS CLEAN AND AMPLE SPACE FOR OUR GROUP. SHORT WALKING DISTANCE TO THE BEACH. WE HAD OUR DOG WITH US AND FENCED IN BACK YARD WAS A PLUS FOR HIM, ALTHOUGH HE, AS WELL AS US, ENJOYED SITTING IN THE FRONT YARD CHATTING WITH PASSING NEIGHBORS AND VISITORS OF COLONIAL BEACH. EVEN THE LOFT UPSTAIRS WAS KEPT COOL AND COMFORTABLE. WE LISTENED TO THE MUSIC COMING FROM THE BOARD WALK, RENTED A GOLF CART WHICH WAS AWESOME TO EXPLORE THE SURROUNDING AREA. HOST WAS GREAT IN COMMUNICATION, ALTHOUGH WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL. ONLY THING WE WOULD RECOMMEND IS MAYBE THINKING ABOUT HAND RAILS IN BATH TUBS FOR THOSE WHO MAY HAVE TROUBLE IN AND OUT OF TUBS FOR SHOWERS. WE DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY TO VISITORS IN THE AREA. WE HAVE ALREADY STARTED TO THINK ABOUT RETURNING LATE AUGUST.

It was a very comfortable cottage for our family. The beach was 1 block away, grocery store 5 minutes away. Fenced in back yard . We ate out 2 nights and the rest of the meals were very comfortable eating in the kitchen. Very easy getting ahold of the landlord if we had questions. Very nice labor day weekend. Would love to stay again

Great Location! Very nice playground and free mini golf at the park behind the house. We often went twice per day. Walking distance to beach, boardwalk, restaurants, brewery, coffee shop. Easy to walk home from the beach for lunch. Cute house - we used all 4 bedrooms. The fenced yard is a definite plus for dogs.

My family of four had the BEST time at this house. The house is big enough for us and a couple of friends to stay in comfortably. The location is perfect for a family, with the playground right behind the house. Also, it is right in the downtown area with short walks (<5 minutes) to restaurants; the boardwalk/beach; and the local park with basketball and tennis courts. We will definitely be looking to stay here in the future!!! Great house!

This property could not be better located as it is near all the best parts of Colonial Beach. It is even walking distance to the beach itself; though, we did use our gold cart because we bring so much stuff! We walked to get ice cream, and dinner and the kids LOVED backing up to the playground. The home itself is adorable and exactly as described. It had every thing our family (and dog) needed for a fun long weekend. We definitely recommend and would return for another visit.

We stayed for a long weekend, meeting my son his friend and his puppy. There were six of us total. There was plenty of room to be comfortable. The house is in a great location just a short walk to the beach and around the corner from ice cream! House was old but clean with plenty of honey touches. Would stay here again.

We have stayed at the Beachcomber II for several years. We love the location and relaxing in the front yard. We actually don't spend much time in the house, except this year...it rained alot. We loved the new furniture in the livingroom and the new windows throughout, nice touches! We love Colonial Beach and have been staying with Cathy at the Beachcomber Cottages since they opened Beachcomber I, 8 years ago. We actually took a peak at the new one, Beachcomber IV on the River, WOW. That said, Beachcomber II is still our favorite due to the great in-town location and the convenience to the beach.

Thanks so much for staying with us! We find that so many of the Beachcomber Guests enjoy Beachcomber I and II for their great in-town locations! The in-town locations give easy access to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Beachcomber III and soon IV; while they don't have the walking access to some of the highlights of Colonial Beach, they feature great water views. We try hard to make sure all of our houses are comfortable and welcoming....please come see us again! Cathy

We vacationed with two other families, including two children ages 10 and 5. The upstairs area was perfect for the kids! Everyone had plenty of room to have their own quiet space, but could come together to socialize and play games in the living room or kitchen. The homeowner was attentive and available for questions when we had them. The location was perfect for watching fireworks on the 4th, and is in walking distance to all of the attractions at Colonial Beach. It's an older home that has all of the amenities one needs, and the beds were very comfortable! Plenty of clean linens as well. We all really enjoyed our stay, and are planning to come back. It really is a great location!

The Town of Colonial Beach, a popular beach community in the late 1800's was built out in the 1930's...so most of the homes with a great location are older. Two of our Beachcomber Cottages are historic. We put central air and heat along with updating the bathrooms and kitchen appliances when we bought the home so that it would be comfortable, yet charming...so we are glad you found it to be what we hoped it to be! We have been coming to Colonial Beach for the last few years with friends,during the Potomac River Festival,and have enjoyed it very much.One of those friends just passed away in March after battling an aggressive form of cancer.He was looking forward to going again this year,as we always celebrated his birthday while there.(June 10th)Despite his passing,we decided to carry on the tradition,and have a memorial birthday celebration for him.We booked this lovely cottage because of it's close proximity to EVERYTHING! We literally could see the parades and fireworks from the house.We rented golf carts but we could easily walk to wherever we needed to go.The Thai French restaurant was next door and Nancy's ice cream just across the street,and just a short walk to live music at the Black Pearl Tiki Bar.Our friend Tim would have loved it just as much as we did.We would definitely choose this cottage again and recommend it to our friends.It had everything we needed to make it a perfect stay.

The house is cozy and super-close to the beach! You can actually see the river as soon as you step on to the sidewalk in front of the house. Our six-year-old daughter loved having her own little sleeping loft on the second floor just as much as she loved the super short walks to both the playground behind the house and Nancy's Ice Cream across the street. There was plenty of room in the driveway for two cars and the golf cart we rented, and the shed was well stocked with beach chairs, a wagon, and three bicycles. We grilled one night and the grill worked perfectly. It was a lovely Memorial Day Weekend and we would definitely rent this cottage again!

I contacted Cathy last minute to stay in Colonial Beach for the weekend. She worked with me and made adjustments and arrangements so that my partner and I could enjoy our stay, all while being on a cruise ship! Her dedication to making our trip an easy transition removed a huge burden and allowed us to really enjoy ourselves. It was our first time visiting the little corky town of Colonial Beach. The house was clean with nice size rooms, comfortable beds and linens, enough towels to swim 3x a day, a fully stocked kitchen, and located less than a block from the beach (literally down the street). While there, we went to Denson's (one of Cathy's suggestions) and I literally ate the best crab cake sandwich I'd ever had! The people of Colonial Beach are so nice and inviting. It is definitely one of those towns where everyone waves and says hello. This was a much needed vacation from the hustle and bustle of the DC corporate world. Next time we are renting golf carts! Thank you Cathy for your hospitality.

We are so glad we could get you in for your getaway! We, too, live in the DC area and know what a treat it is to get-away to this quirky, friendly town along the Potomac! Yes Densons is a favorite, my husband loves the crab cakes...I say they have the best burger I have ever had; not to mention the eclairs...glad you enjoyed. We are only able to accommodate these last minute requests, because we have a great team of housekeepers and a handyman in town that keep the houses guest ready, all the time. It is amazing to me the number of great dining options within steps of both Beachcomber I and Beachcomber II. Guests share with us that they enjoy the wide range of dining with-in walking distance, To select from is waterfront at the Riverboat and High Tides, to Thai, to Chinese, to small bistros like the Tides Inn, Densons, and Tattle Tales, and Seafood at Shady Lane. We enjoyed our stay at Colonial Beach. The home is great for families with kids or a couple who just wants to get away. Very quiet (except for the 8am fire test call one morning). Beach was an easy walk across the street and ice cream place on way back was a bonus!! We drove into DC 3 days and longer drive than we expected with traffic but a nice drive! Kids loved the playground in the "backyard"!! Will definitely recommend this area to anyone wanting to experience DC and the beach!! Cathy was very nice to work!! Thank you!

We were traveling with a varied group: two - 16 year olds. They loved the upstairs bedroom, they named it the "girl cave." They were able to explore independently, the beach is close to the house and seems very safe. My 84 year old father-in-law, enjoyed nice walks on the beach and relaxing in the beautiful cottage. Our two dogs - who appreciated the fenced yard, walks on the boardwalk and exploring the quaint neighborhood. Lastly, my husband and myself two 52 year olds- we enjoyed early morning and evening walks, bike rides (bikes are in the shed). This cottage is excellently stocked. There is something for everyone to do. Colonial Beach is family friendly. The locals are helpful and welcoming. We took a day trip to Mt. Vernon, which was enjoyed by all. Also near by is the family home of Robert E. Lee. Cathy, one of the owners, is quick to respond and happily answered all of our questions.

We just spent a week at Beachcomber II and could not ask for anything better in renting the cottage. Everything we needed was there and in great condition. Our little dog loved the freedom of the back yard. The owner was great and so easy to work with. There were (5) in our party and we had plenty of room to roam and a quiet corner in the sun room to read. I would highly recommend any of the Beachcomber rental homes. We will return next year.

Our stay at Beachcomber II could not have been more pleasant! The cottage had everything we needed and more - next time, I will know that I needn't bring so much kitchen stuff - it's already there! The cottage was beautiful - tastefully decorated with that "beachy" feel! We loved how convenient it was to everything in town. It was my first time staying at Colonial Beach and I'm in love! I want to come back and stay at Beachcomber II again and again!

We made last minute arrangements with Cathy for our mini vacation at Beachcomber II with Cathy,s help. She was extremely nice to work with and she did everthing in her power help us get situated there. My wife and I and our 2 Greatgrandchildren had a wonderful time on the beach and in the town of Colonial Beach. My 2 Greatgranddaughters rode the 2 bicycles that were there all over town when they were not at the beach! My wife and I enjoyed visiting Presidents Washington and Monroes birth places. Itis a truly beautiful area! We all enjoyed the ice cream at Densons and at Nancys We are already making plans for our next trip there,this time for a good bit longer

I stayed at the Beachcomber II for a little get away with my best friend and my 5 year old son. The house was spacious and clean with nice simple decorative touches. Everything was as listed and the area was just what we wanted. I would (and have) recommended this place to friends and will plan a return trip soon.
